Location: Lichterfelde is a district of the municipality of Niederer Fläming in the south of Teltow-Fläming district in the state of Brandenburg. Lichterfelde is a typical Brandenburg village street and consists of a main road along which almost all houses in the village are located. These are predominantly four-sided farms, or their remains, since over time outbuildings were demolished and no closed farm structure remains. The village pond, the church, and the "Oberlaubenstall" are distinctive features of the village. The village of Lichterfelde was founded during the medieval German Ostsiedlung by Flemish settlers. This is reflected in the village name, which derives from West Flemish Lichtervelde (such as Lichtervelde in Flanders). In the first documented mention of the town in 1279, Lichterfelde was granted to the Zinna monastery by Günther von Schwalenberg. The monastery sold the town as early as 1463 to the office of Jüterbog, and Lichterfelde subsequently became an administrative village. In 1962, Lichterfelde became part of the municipality of Werbig; since 1997, the village has been part of the municipality of Niederer Fläming, whose administrative seat is located here. A…
